Football Ligue 1 – L1: Monaco leaves Nice with the derby in its pocket
6th day of Ligue 1:
Alliance Riviera.
OGC Nice – AS Monaco: 0-1.
But: Embolo (69th) for Monaco.
To end the 6th day of Ligue 1, AS Monaco won the Derby of the Côte d’Azur on the lawn of Nice (0-1).
Lacking points at the start of the season, Nice and Monaco went blow for blow in the first period, but Nubel blocked Nice’s attempts from Atal (12th), Pépé (29th) and Dante (45th). On the Monegasque side, only Golovin was dangerous (41st), without success until the break (0-0 in the 45th).
When they returned from the locker room, ASM put their hand on the match, Golovin finding the post (51st) before Nubel saved his team again (62nd). An important save, since Embolo then unlocked the counter for this derby. Upon receiving a cross from Caio Henrique at the far post, the Swiss striker headed in the top corner of Schmeichel after a small error of judgment from Viti (0-1 in the 69th). One but that was enough for the happiness of Monaco, which therefore left Nice with the three points.
