Pas-de-Calais: children found at home tied up and deprived of care, their parents arrested

A shock for the police in the north of France. This Tuesday, August 30, in Noyelles-sous-Lens in Pas-de-Calais, police discovered two young children, aged 2 and 5, tied up and covered in excrement, reports News Pas de Calais. Their parents were arrested and brought to justice.
It’s a story worthy of a horror movie. According to the local media, it begins with the complaint of a 24-year-old boy, who says he was sent home by his parents. He explains that his brothers and sisters are still going through an ordeal at the family home. Social services are then notified.
2-year-old child who ‘never touched the ground’
It was on their way to the couple’s home that the police came face to face with two children, tied to high chairs. They are 2 and 5 years old and are forbidden to stand up without their parents’ permission. According to a police source, still taken up by News Pas de Calaisthe youngest “never even touched the ground”.
In total, the siblings are made up of ten children, all present during the police intervention. Most covered in feces and are also out of school. From the 24-year-old eldest to the youngest, just a few months old, all suffered severe physical abuse. They were notably tied up so as not to “commit nonsense”, according to the future of Artois.
The couple were arrested and immediately taken into custody. It is a 44-year-old man, who says “black worker” and a 40-year-old woman, unemployed. They received around 2,700 euros in social benefits per month, according to News Pas de Calais.
The children had to be “washed” before being represented by Child Welfare. As for the parents, they were brought before the Béthune court, which placed them under judicial supervision, pending their trial.
