Nice – Monaco: The probable compositions!

Sugar Mizzy September 3, 2022

OGC Nice faces AS Monaco, this Sunday at 8:45 p.m., at the Allianz Riviera, as part of a southern derby for the 6th day of Ligue 1. Discover the probable compositions of the meeting!

Nice (finally) won this week against LOSC (2-1) After the slap received against the OM, last Sunday (0-3). Nice’s start to the season is not glorious and a victory is expected to start the season and gain confidence before receiving Cologne, this Thursday in the Europa Conference League. For the moment, the Aiglons have still not won at home in Ligue 1 (a draw against Strasbourg and a defeat against Marseille).

For Monaco, the dynamic is strange. ASM is capable of coming out with good matches, like the one in Paris (1-1) but sink a few days later, against ESTAC Troyes (2-4). Monegasques must find a certain regularity. Philippe Clément, coach of AS Monaco, at a press conferenceprefer to temporize:

” It’s a little early to talk about the podium. Taking stock at this time of the season is too complicated, it will be time to do it when the first leg is over. We knew that our calendar was the most difficult of all the teams in France at the start of the exercise. And then I remember that when I said last March that there were 10 finals left and that we could still have a good season, no one believed me.

Obviously it gives confidence to collect points and we want to win the most matches. Players must be aware and certain of their qualities. We also need to live a little less according to our emotions, and we find a little more constancy.

Diop holder? Monaco without Maripan

Transferred a few days ago from AS Monaco, Sofiane Diop could celebrate his first tenure with OGC Nice, against his former team. Andy Delort, Nicolas Pepe and Aaron Ramsey are announced holders. In the middle of the field, Khephren Thuram and Mario Lemina are approached. Pablo Rosario is suspended for accumulating yellow cards. Gaëtan Laborde, Joe Bryan and Mads Bench Sorensen were to start on the benchthose who were formalized this Thursday evening.

Receiving a red card against ESTAC, Guillermo Maripan will miss this Southern derby. The Chilean defender should be replaced by Benoît Badiaschile. Alex Disasi and Malang Sarr (ex-Nice) should accompany him in defense. Wissam Ben Yedder, Aleksandr Golovin and Breel Embolo should take care of the Monegasque attack.

  • The probable composition of the OGCN (in 4-2-3-1): Schmeichel – Atal, Todibo, Dante, Bard – Lemina, Thuram – Pepe, Ramsey, Diop – Delort.
  • The probable composition of the ASM (in 3-4-1-2): Nubel – Disasi, Badiaschile, Disasi – Vanderson, M.Camara, Y.Fofana, C.Henrique – Golovin – Embolo, Ben Yedder.
The last Southern derby between the two teams dates back to September 19, 2021 and was quite spectacular. Golovin had opened the score before Delort equalized. Boudaoui had given the Aiglons the advantage but Ben Yedder had put the two teams level.
