Man crushed by a scooter in Toulouse: Gérald Darmanin promises him that “the police always win in the end”
Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin reacted to the violent attack suffered by a man who was run over on a scooter in Toulouse. He promises her that her attackers will be found.
“It’s savagery.” Gérald Darmanin was shocked like all those who saw the images of the violent attack suffered by a passer-by in Toulouse on August 27th. Two men ran over him on a scooter when he had been attacked and was lying on the ground on the Saint-Pierre bridge.

Gérard Darmanin, guest of “C à vous” on France 5 on Wednesday evening, wanted to speak directly to the victim. “I want to say to Jérôme, as to all those who are legitimately shocked by these images, that the resources of the police are very important. We will certainly find his attackers since there are video surveillance images”. The Minister of the Interior makes a promise: “We always find them. The police always win in the end”.
Jérôme, a father in his thirties, had gone out with friends for a drink in Place Saint-Pierre in Toulouse. On the way, he had met two young people who were traveling too fast for his taste on his scooter. He had pointed it out to them. It was then that he suffered an outburst of violence.

Asked by The Dispatch on Tuesday, the father of the family said he suffered from a fractured cheekbone and head trauma. He claims to be “morally broken”, to have “anger” in him and to have “a great incomprehension”. He adds that he will no longer go out in Toulouse at night because he no longer feels safe. His brother had already been attacked for a cigarette a few years ago.
The Toulouse prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation. The police are still looking for the suspects. The investigation is designated to the urban security of Tournefeuille.
