Extended absence for Cyril Baille
The sky darkens above the Stade Toulousain. While the former champion of France will move on the lawn of Bordeaux-Bègles this Sunday at the end of the 1st day of the Top 14, Ugo Mola has designated that Cyril Baille will not enter into his plans for a period longer than intended. Indeed, undergoing the international left pillar took advantage of the off-season for surgery on the adductors. If it was certain that the 29-year-old would not take part at the start of the season, with a planned absence of two months, the situation has changed, as Ugo Mola confirmed to the press on Thursday. “He is absent for another two and a half months easily,” called the technician during this press conference. If this were to be confirmed, Cyril Baille should miss the fall tour of the XV of France, with matches against Australia, South Africa then Japan which are on the program.
Toulouse weakened for its start to the season
While the Toulouse staff can count on Rodrigue Neti and David Ainu’u to make up for this absence, the latter is also affected in the adductors with an absence scheduled for one month. The Rouge-et-Noir infirmary is busy as the Top 14 season is just beginning. While Thibaut Flament was injured during preparation and François Cros has not yet recovered from a knee injury contracted at the end of last season, it is one of the recruits who is also missing. Paul Graou, Antoine Dupont’s understudy at the scrum, suffered a broken hand which required an operation which kept him sidelined for six weeks. Pita Ahki, for his part, will very soon go through the operation box at the level of a knee. Added to this are the absences of Yannick Youyoutte, injured in a bicep, as well as those of Santiago Chocobares and Lucas Tauzin, whose preparation is not complete. If he has a workforce rich in quality and quantity, Ugo Mola will still have to deal with many absences.
