Slovenia appointed a special representative for the Western Balkans
Slovenia appointed a special representative for the Western Balkans, about which it also informed the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State of the United States of America, Gabriel Escobar.
Information about Slovenia’s decision to appoint a special representative for the Western Balkans is published on the official page of the MFA on Twitter. The head of Slovenian diplomacy, Tanja Fajon, informed Escobar about this at a meeting on the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum.
Who will be the extraordinary representative of Slovenia has not yet been determined.
Germany has already appointed a special envoy for this area, Manuel Sarrazin, because the countries of the Western Balkans need many reforms in order to open the doors of the European Union to them. Slovenia is also committed to this effort, and this appointment confirms this.
