Portugal “needs more quality qualification programs” for agriculture — DNOTICIAS.PT
The president of the Confederação dos Agricultores (CAP) defends in statements to Lusa that Portugal “needs to have qualification programs more suited to the sector” and that there is a shortage of about “five thousand” of differentiated workers.

For Eduardo Oliveira e Sousa, “it needs to have national qualification programs that are more suitable for the sector, with a long-term focus on residents, or on a migrant population that may have a medium-term perspective” in Portugal.
Asked how many workers estimate that the agriculture sector in Portugal is lacking, the president of CAP says that it does not concern “undifferentiated workers, for the current situation, the shortage must be in the order of five thousand workers”.
He criticizes that “often” the State “confuses seasonal work with precarious work, wanting an agriculture, which is governed by the cycle of nature, behaves like other sectors of economic activity”.
Well, “work fails in peaks of hand, yes, but the hand is lacking throughout the year. What can be done to make an agricultural work for the Portuguese population?
