Kuleba goes to Sweden and the Czech Republic to increase the pressure on Russia

On behalf of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba is visiting Sweden and the Czech Republic next week to consolidate international support for Ukraine and increase sanctions pressure against Russia.

Kuleba will arrive in Stockholm on August 29, where he will be hosted by Sweden’s Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson. The Ukrainian official will also hold talks with Ann Linde, his Swedish counterpart, and meet the leaders of the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) and Swedish political parties.
The main topics of discussion will be combating Russian aggression; additional military, economic and humanitarian support to Ukraine; the country’s path towards EU membership; and the reconstruction of Ukraine after the war.
In Prague, Dmytro Kuleba will participate in an informal meeting with EU foreign ministers on August 30-31; key topics will be visa restrictions for Russian citizens and the EU’s eighth sanctions package against Russia.
The minister will separately hold a number of bilateral meetings with colleagues from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Georgia, Moldova and Cyprus. He will also participate in the International Conference Forum 2000 “Current challenges for democracy: what should be our response?”
The Ukrainian Foreign Minister will hold bilateral meetings with Czech high-ranking officials, Milos Vystrcil, President of the Senate of the Czech Republic and Marketa Pekarova Adamova, Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies.
At an informal meeting in Prague on 30-31 August, foreign ministers from EU member states is preparing to support the repeal of the agreement on the facilitation of the issuance of visas for Russian citizens.
