Mick wins 11:10 against Nowitzki
21 goals for a good cause!
At the charity kick “Champions for Charity” on Wednesday in Frankfurt, it was 11:10 for the “Schumacher and Friends” team against the “Nowitzki All Stars”. The team of Formula 1 star Mick Schumacher (23) won against the squad of basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki (44).
The motto: change at will and condition. And the income of 100,000 euros goes to the charitable foundations of the Schumacher family and Dirk Nowitzki.
Quirky start: Penalties for Team Nowitzki in the 3rd minute. The basketball player competes himself, but fails due to René Adler. Referee Deniz Aytekin can be repeated. But even the second attempt does not miss an eagle. Nowitzki: “I didn’t stretch before. It was all a bit stiff.”
The four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel (34), who plays for the Schumi team, cuts a really good figure on the ball. Maybe an extra incentive for the Heppenheimer: He is a fan of Eintracht Frankfurt, in whose stadium the charity kick takes place.
Vettel: “I know the stadium here very well. I used to sit in the stands myself more than twenty years ago and now I’m standing on the lawn myself, that’s something very special.”
But the first Formula 1 star to score is Mick Schumacher! After a good half hour he puts his team 2-1 ahead. Dirk Nowitzki in goal has no chance.
Then it’s back to back – and 4:4 into the break (see below for the complete list of goalscorers).
After the break, Eintracht regular keeper Kevin Trapp has to get behind him twice: His Frankfurt colleague Laura Freigang and Sebastian Vettel defeat the keeper.
Mick Schumacher has a total of three stalls at the tournament in honor of his father Michael (53). He, his colleague Vettel and Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali (57) are traveling on to Spa/Belgium, where the 14th race of the season will be held at the weekend.
The goals: 1-0 Laura Freigang (12′), 1-1 Thorsten Margis (22′), 2-1 Mick Schumacher (31′), 3-1 Ervin Skela (33′), 3-2 Gerald Asamoah (35′), 3: 3 Stefan Kießling (36th), 3: 4 Martin Hinteregger (40th), 4: 4 Mick Schumacher (40th), 4: 5 wild card winner Christian Ott (51st), 5: 5 Laura Freigang (53′), 6: 5 Sebastian Vettel (55′), 7: 5 Mick Schumacher (64′), 8: 5 René Caselly (75′), 8: 6 Marcel Gurk (75′), 9: 6 Maro Engel (80′), 9: 7 Felix Kroos (82′), 10: 7 Pascal Gurk (84′), 11: 7 Sebastian Vettel (86′), 11: 8 Christian Ott (87′), 11: 9 Christian Ott (89./FE), 11:10 Moritz Fürste (90.)
