A long journey, a great Kořenář and the first win
Our team entered the attractive tournament of Thursday’s game against home team Slovan, against whom they led by three goals thanks to a goal by Gustaf Thorell and two hits by Michal Řepík. Thanks to the great Josef Kořenář in goal, we held on until the end, when the home team got within range with two quick goals.
“In the end, we made unnecessary mistakes, which they punished,” sorry in an interview after the game our goalkeeper, who together with the whole team managed the exciting finish. The entire team coped very well with the demanding five-hour journey, before which they also underwent an hour’s training in Prague.
Lukko Rauma: Finnish team with “Pačes” in the squad
Lukko also entered the tournament victoriously, winning 3:2 in a tug-of-war with Davos. The defender Tomáš Pavelka also contributed to the victory, who fought in our jersey for the championship against Třinac in the spring and after the end of the season headed for his dream job abroad.
In the quarter-finalist team of last season, however, he mainly meets domestic players. In addition to Pavelka, there are only four foreigners in the squad – Russian goalkeeper Zagidulin, Canadian defenders Abt with Grégoire and forward Kestner. The American forward spent last season in Vladivostok, where he headed after a successful engagement in Turku. In the summer, however, he returned to the north of Europe, this time to Rauma.
