Desert dust is flowing in Slovakia. They make cars dirty at night
After a while, dust from the Sahara is heading over our territory again. An approaching cold front ensures that this dust settles down.
The weather in Slovakia today is affected by a cold front that is moving from the west through Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria. In front of this front, the influx of very warm, tropical air from the south peaks.
The temperatures have been relatively high since the morning hours. After 1 p.m., we measured over +36 °C, namely in Hurbanov. The temperature may rise further in the coming hours.
The aforementioned desert dust also has its share. As of today, it is also located above our territory.
Dust in the air behaves like a thin layer of glass. This promotes the “greenhouse effect”. Thanks to him, today is very warm and at the same time more stuffy.

Storms will bring dust to the ground
An approaching cold front will bring a change in weather to our area. The first storms are expected already in the afternoon in the west of Slovakia.
However, a more significant wave of storms is expected around 19:00 and then the storms should spread over another area in the western half of Slovakia.
Storms, which mainly threaten us with heavier precipitation, but in western Slovakia, gusty winds are also expected, especially during the evening and night waves. Storms are already threatening our entire territory on Saturday.
The weather in the next few hours will therefore ensure that the dust in the air falls to the ground. Therefore, leave the washing of non-garaged cars for another time, today or tomorrow, it is definitely not worth it.
