Prince Albert II directly involved in the negotiations?
According to Nico Rosberg, former Formula 1 world champion in 2016 and Monegasque resident, Prince Albert II would be at the heart of discussions with Liberty Media to keep the Monaco Grand Prix on the calendar for the next few years.
While no official announcement has been made to date, the mystery remains as to the presence of the legendary Monegasque race on the F1 2023 calendar.
In tie with the Grand Prix of Belgium (the Grand Prix of France would already be condemned to disappear), the Grand Prix of Monaco could undergo some modifications to be present within the programming of 24 races supposed the year next.
Liberty Media would indeed be in favor of adjustments to the layout of the circuit, to encourage overtaking. But the Automobile Club de Monaco remained intransigent in the negotiations. As for the marketing of advertising panels on the circuit, directly managed by the ACM, which would pose a problem for Liberty Media.

Formula 1 owners would not have looked kindly on billboards being sold to Swiss luxury watch brand Tag Heuer, when the official sponsor of Formula 1 is Rolex, another well-known brand in the luxury watch sector.

Consultant at Sky Sports, Nico Rosberg wanted to provide some clarifications about the negotiations around the future of the Monegasque round.
