” In 32 yearsI never had so many requests », admits Chrystelle Dufas, director of the campsite Monaco Park a Longny-les-Villages (Orne).
Family runthe campsite has seen its explode reservations since the beginning of summer. A record attendance which surprises the management: “We are so overbooked that I have to refuse”.
With mild weather, a region that is gradually beginning to reveal itself through its nature, and diverse and varied infrastructures, many holidaymakers come to Monaco Parc.
“We have a lot of Dutch, English, even people from Longny who come to book,” explains Chrystelle Dufas. She adds: “Every time we ask ‘Why come to Monaco Parc?’ “The answer is always: the swimming pool and the slides”.
A passing campsite?
This explosion in attendance is due in particular to greater communication compared to previous years. But becoming a temporary campsite is not in the plans of the family, which prefers to remain in a closed circle.
“This surprised us, because basically, we are a campsite where it is owners who rent out spaces in mobile homes. And to tell the truth, we prefer to stay like that, ”says Chrystelle Dufas.
We even have people from Longny who come to book.
With more than 170 year-round residents, 12 mobile home rentals and 20 places for tents and caravans, the campsite is more used to seeing regular tenants. But that does not prevent the lucky ones from coming to camp on the 4-star grounds of Monaco Parc.
With the project of renting the former restaurant for ceremonies in mind, the Monaco Parc campsite is thinking big for the next few years.
