Glory, Glory Seekirchen – Tricky task on Friday
After the top game is before the top game: First against second it was already on Monday, and because points were just whistle blowing at Wallersee, SV Seekirchen is asking for the next hit game at the end of this short working week – Friday, 19.
Fame and honor was bestowed on our next opponent back in the 1960s. The press celebrated SV Seekirchen as the “Manchester squad” in 1967 following the first Salzburg indoor tournament. The media people once retained the aggressive and technically superior style of play so much that they made this original comparison with the British bel étage of the same color.
Now we don’t want to praise our opponents to the skies or to the “Theater of Dreams” at this point, but there is still a lot to be said for the attributions of the playing style even 55 years later. In any case, it hasn’t been doing well for us lately, as recent statistics show.
Seekirchen’s series
Austria could only win one of the last six duels, once there was a draw. Four defeats meanwhile – we remember, for example, our club birthday, which the Seekirchen party crashers messed up for us at home two years ago: “All of Salzburg was lit up, for the hottest club in the world.” Even at the last meeting so far at the end of September Last year it was literally a win for Austria, the game ended 3-2 and the points once again all went to Wallersee.
But we’re far from the only ones who have a hard time against the Flachgauer. After the Cup-Aus in Bregenz and the opening defeat at newly promoted Hallein, the Seekirchen team started their four-game winning streak, which has brought them very close to the top of the table. The SVS has been under Mario Lapkalo’s command for over a year. The 48-year-old should do a great job because what his boys are delivering seems more and more solid. In the last home game there was a 2:1 against the highly rated Bischofshofen. The same result is enough for the away win in Grödig on Monday, which the club then classified on its channels as deserved, full of professionalism and humility, but possibly lucky.
Physio skill for a quick kick
So we will have to assert ourselves against a functioning “Werkl”, we can prepare for that. It’s the week of the physios that we’re going through right now, as coach Christian Schaider said after the Saalfelden game: “By having a good physio and athletic team,” our coach parried the question of how the mammoth program for amateur athletes – three games within eight days – can cope.
Ina and Chiara are our girls, who delivered this week, together with athletic trainer Andreas Stitzl – thanks in advance for the 22 fit calves, which will be ready again on Friday! It doesn’t matter whether they deliver on the pitch, or whether brains decide again, as in person Mathias Hausberger recently against Saalfelden.
The main thing is that we can do the same as Brentford and get this “Manchester” bent – which is only Seekirchen and is not really on the island, also because of this:
Everything on track
Everything is set up for another big game, which will be the focus of this 6th round throughout the league. Everything is on track with both teams – and certainly with you fans too…
Because nothing is more obvious for this game than traveling by train – you know: on On Friday you can even use the bus and train for free throughout the state! It’s just under ten minutes from the train station up to the sports center. It’s already going to be tight on the field in “Aug” anyway, so we save ourselves the really unnecessary parking lot stress this time – shoulder to shoulder instead of bumper to bumper, fit for the future for Austria’s victory!
The address of the August sports center is: Sportzentrum 1, 5201 Seekirchen am Wallersee
