Extreme storms will soon come to Slovakia
Although we are currently battling high heat, the weather will change soon. Storms that originate in nearby countries are coming to Slovakia. As the SITA agency reported in the morning, the storm claimed three lives in Corsica and injured another 12 people.
The Corsican prefecture reported that a 13-year-old girl was killed in the town of Sagone when a tree fell on a campsite In Coggii, south of Sagone, a 72-year-old woman died after the roof of a beach restaurant collapsed. The third victim is a 46-year-old man who lost his life in a campsite in Calvi. One of the injured is hospitalized in critical condition.
During this storm, there were strong winds, which in some areas reached more than 220 kilometers per hour in gusts, the meteorological agency Météo-France reported. Roughly 45,000 households ended up without electricity, the energy company EDF said.
The French Maritime Authority wrote on the social and microblogging network Twitter that rescue operations have been launched on the west coast of Corsica to help stranded and shipwrecked ships. Minister of the Interior Gérald Darmanin plans to come to the island on Thursday.
Problems also in Italy

Add storms to Slovakia as well
Portal iMeteo informs that storms will hit the Czech Republic and Austria in the next few hours. However, they will not reach Slovakia during today.
The temperature will be high tomorrow, with temperatures reaching up to 39 degrees Celsius in some places. The first storms are expected to form tomorrow as well, they are expected to form in western and northern Slovakia.
In the case of northern Slovakia, the storms mainly affect mountainous areas. Storms are likely to be more intense in the west, especially in the afternoon.
The most dangerous storms will appear after 4 p.m. in almost all of western Slovakia. Another round of overnight storms is possible Friday night. On Saturday, storms will occur in several parts of the country.
SHMÚ informed in the morning about today’s high heat. The highest daily temperature will be 32 to 37 degrees Celsius, in Orava, Liptov, Spiš and the northeast around 30 degrees Celsius.
The temperature on the mountains at an altitude of 1,500 meters will be around 22 degrees Celsius. Meteorologists do not expect any precipitation today.
