Corners. Exalt Bach with the Baroque Ensemble of Toulouse
The Musique d’été à Anglès festival offers a Bach concert at the village church this Thursday, August 18 at 9 p.m. with the Baroque ensemble of Toulouse under the direction of Michel Brun.
On the program, two magnificent cantatas by Jean-Sébastien Bach with soprano (Clémence Garcia), trumpet (Patrick Pagès), flute (Michel Brun) and orchestra. There will also be a concerto for trumpet by Torelli and a concerto for recorder (Stéphanie Cettolo) and transverse flute by Telemann.
Johann Sebastian Bach, author of the most beautiful pages of the oratorio, left numerous cantatas in the usual form Sinfonia – Chorus – Arias and recitatives – Chorale. But one day in 1730, he premiered in Leipzig a particularly brilliant and lyrical cantata for solo soprano and trumpet, a far cry from the sobriety of his first cantatas.
Classified BWV51, this musical treasure is of great virtuosity, both for the soprano and for the trumpeter. This cantata is called “in ogni tempo”, made to be played all year round: a godsend for the Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse!
What could be better than the concerto for traverso and recorder by Telemann, who frequented the Bach house in Leipzig, to complete this festive program?
The Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse is made up of soloists under the direction of Michel Brun with the soprano, Clémence Garcia, the natural trumpet, Patrick Pagès, the recorder, Stéphanie Cettolo and the violins, Laurence Martinaud (solo), Bernadette Charbonnier. Viola, Véronique Delmas-Pellerin.
Add cellist Géraldine Devillières, double bassist Franck Ratajczyk and harpsichord/organ Lucille Chartrain.
Note that the price is set at €18 (reduced: €15 with card). It is free up to 12 years old. Information: 05 63 70 97 24
