Belgian Lions – Belgium ends its preparation with a defeat in France
Belgium lost 90-71 against France in their last warm-up game on Thursday in Montpellier.
Retin Obasohan finished top scorer for the Belgian side with 14 points while Jonathan Tabu added 13 points and Alex Libert 11 points. On the French side, Thomas Heurtel planted 13 points and NBA player Rudy Gobert added 12 units. The Belgian Lions chained a fifth defeat in a row in preparation after setbacks against Bosnia (74-68), Estonia (79-66), Germany (83-87) and Finland (80-71). Belgium had started their preparation with a 71-75 success in Finland. Belgium is preparing its qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup on August 25 against Great Britain at the Mons.arena and on August 28 in Greece, but also the Euro which will begin on September 1 in Tbilisi, Georgia. At the Euro, Belgium was given in group A which is played in Tbilisi in Georgia with Spain, Montenegro, Georgia, Turkey and Bulgaria. Dario Gjergja’s players make their debut on Thursday, September 1 against Georgia (7:00 p.m.).
