150 firefighter interventions Wednesday evening
The firefighters of Nord and Pas-de-Calais had to activate crisis cells this Wednesday evening after the passage of thunderstorms which swept the region in the early evening. Agate Météo recorded 20.6 millimeters of rain in a few hours in Roubaix, 13.4 millimeters in Lille and 10.4 in Arras. In some places, up to 60 millimeters of precipitation fell: the equivalent of 3 weeks of rain in a few hours!
40 interventions in the North
In the North, Estaires, Merville and La Gorgue were very affected with about forty interventions according to the firefighters, “mainly for flooding of premises“. The Léon-Duhamel EHPAD in Merville found itself with its feet in the water. The inhabitants of Raimbeaucourt in the Douaisis suffered a heavy downpour of hail.
107 interventions in Pas-de-Calais
In the Pas-de-Calais, the firefighters were called a hundred times. The sectors of Béthune (47 interventions) and Montreuil (22 interventions) were the most affected, it was necessary to pump water in a hundred homes.
