After winning the title of European champion in the triple jump, praise for Pedro Pichardo began to flow. Also Augusto Silva, president of the Assembly of the Republic, used Twitter to say that the title of champion goes to world champion and olí himself champion.

Later, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa congratulated “the athlete Pedro Pichardo and the cyclist Iúri Leitão, European Triple Jump and Track Cycling Champions in the scratch race, respectively, for titles won”. “The Head of State highlighted in competitions that project the most diverse national sport and raise the name of Portugal, a word of encouragement to all athletes who still stand out that the modalities are competing”, reads the note published in the place of the presidency.
And the club that Pedro Pichardo represents, Benfica, also made a point of marking the moment, enumerating the athlete’s titles. “Pedro Pablo Pichardo remains unstoppable,” the club wrote.
