Frankfurt/Main (dpa) – The benefit game “Champions for Charity” will take place this year with the national football players Timo Werner and Florian Neuhaus. This emerges from the list of participants that the organizers published on Wednesday at a press conference in Frankfurt am Main. In addition to Werner (RB Leipzig) and Neuhaus (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Mats Hummels from Borussia Dortmund is also involved. Formula 1 driver Mick Schumacher and basketball superstar Dirk Nowitzki, who retired three years ago, will act as hosts in the 2006 World Cup stadium in Frankfurt.
The match will take place on August 24th, the proceeds of the game will go to the 41Campus of the Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and the Keep Fighting Foundation of the Schumacher family. Eintracht is also represented in the home stadium: goalkeeper Kevin Trapp is there, as well as Martin Hinteregger, who retired in the summer, and national player Laura Freigang.
