The Frontonnais celebrates its wines
Take the time for an evening outdoors, savor the best wines of Fronton, feast on delicious local products… Nothing beats a visit to “Fronton Saveurs et Senteurs” to enjoy the summer, escape from everyday life. , or for some extend the holidays. A stone’s throw from Toulouse, the pretty village is once again organizing the great vineyard festival after two years of health constraints. About twenty winegrowers meet the public from Friday evening until Sunday evening in the heart of the shady village. But there are also around thirty stands and ten places to eat that will be on offer during the weekend.
25,000 visitors expected
“The return to the normal formula is a real pleasure. We have done everything possible to offer this celebration, the success of which is undeniable. We took the opportunity to make some modifications”, confides Benjamin Piccoli, director of the Syndicate of Wines of Pediment. The great novelty concerns the restoration. “The success of Saveurs et Senteurs means that many people come in the evening and want to eat, which can cause waiting times and sometimes reduced places. We have remedied this by expanding these places, in particular by using the lower part of the Jean- Ferrand” explains Benjamin Piccoli.
A collector’s glass
But “Saveurs et senteurs” is also three days of music. This year twelve groups will stroll through the aisles. A gospel concert will be given on Sunday, after mass. As for previous editions, the entrance to the canvas village is free. But to make the most of the tastings, it is advisable to buy a collector’s glass (€5) at the entrance to the village. The formula has worked well for 33 years. She is still as attractive as ever. More than 25,000 visitors gather every summer to savor the delights of the vineyard and its unique grape variety, the famous Négrette.
The 33rd edition of the wine festival, “Fronton Saveurs et Senteurs”, is back to its normal configuration. It will take place from August 19 to August 21 in the heart of the pretty village.
