Russia sent to the IAEA and UNPO to condemn the shelling of Zaporizhzhya NPP by Ukraine
Russia is sending the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the UN to condemn the actions of the Ukrainian military and restrictions on Ukraine due to the ongoing shelling of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZAES), follows from messages Permanent missions of Russia to international organizations in Vienna.
“We once again call on the leadership of the IAEA and the UN, as well as all sane forces to respond to the actions of the Kyiv authorities and involve them in the use of strikes against nuclear facilities and dangerous hazardous industries,” the statement said in Australia.
The Russian Permanent Mission noted that the seizure of the ZNPP infrastructure was not implemented and the operation of the reactors was not disrupted only “thanks to the professional and efficient actions of important military personnel.”
Earlier it became known that the IAEA is starting preparations for the second mission at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, but so far preparations have been slow, as the director of the agency, Rafael Grossi, is on vacation.
ZNPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper near the city of Energodar. Four days after the start of a special military operation in Ukraine, Russian troops took over the control station. Energodar and the Zaporizhzhya NPP were repeatedly fired upon by the Ukrainian military.
