15 million euros. This is the amount invested by PPG Aerospace – an American company specializing in the manufacture of paints, coatings and specialty materials for the aeronautics – to open a new aerospace application support center (ASC).
Currently under construction at Pibrac (Haute-Garonne), near Toulouse, this infrastructure should be operational from fourth quarter 2023.
The second center of this type in France
The first stone of this project was laid on July 12th. Built by the GSE company, this future center provides nearly 1,500 m² of offices and 5,000 m² of workshops.
“CSA capabilities will include a development and qualification lab for aerospace materials, a color mixing area for coatings and a spray booth for hands-on training. It will also house fill lines for refinish kits, a transparency inspection cell, custom packaging capabilities for third-party products, chemical management resources and a customer service center.
It is the second center of this type to be established on French territory. The first is found Gonfreville (Seine-Maritime) and 17e worldwide.
PPG continues its development in France
“The new facility will improve our ability to provide unparalleled responsiveness and customer support, leading to faster product qualification and higher participation in new projects earlier in the development cycle,” said Dirk Thelen, l one of the leaders of PPG.
Already deployed in the Toulouse region, BeauzellePPG should move its activities to this new center in the ZAC de l’Escalette.
