The food chain watchdog calls for an even distribution of risk
LJUBLJANA – The report of the ombudsman in the food supply chain for 2021 calls for an even distribution of risks in the entire food supply chain and a fair and transparent relationship. “Direct purchases from producers help prevent price increases, and self-sufficiency is also an important factor,” the report says, adding that the food supply chain breaks down in crisis situations and that suppliers and producers are the weakest links.
The Dobrna health resort quadrupled its profit in 2021
DOBRNA – Terme Dobrna, a health resort in northeastern Slovenia, showed a net profit of 892,000 euros for 2021, compared to 248,000 euros the year before. Net sales revenue increased by 26 percent to 11.1 million euros. In the annual report, the recovery is attributed to the fact that Slovenian tourists preferred to vacation closer to home. Foreign tourists accounted for only 5% of stays.
Households have been facing income growth in the last year
LJUBLJANA – The income of more than a quarter of Slovenian households increased in the last year, and the share of households that had problems paying housing costs also increased, according to a report by the statistical office. Meanwhile, 18% of households struggled to make ends meet with their incomes.
