Watch out, young book fans: Reading Summer is still running in the Salzburg City Library. Children and young people – and also toddlers who are being read to – are invited to get a collective pass from the library, borrow exciting books and read, read, read! Then enter the titles of the books read in the pass and use smileys to rate how you liked the book and hand in the collective pass in the children’s area of the city library or on the book bus. Please do not cite digital or private books. With six books read (or read aloud) and a completely filled out pass, a small surprise awaits in the panorama bar, sponsored by Kulinarium. In addition, every collector’s pass takes part in the grand final raffle. The prizes are an iPad mini, two Tonie boxes and vouchers for the Rupertus bookstore. The last opportunity to hand in the reading passes is September 18th. The award ceremony will take place in October.
There are over 23,000 books to choose from
Since 2012, the city library has been encouraging children and young people to immerse themselves in the world of exciting stories and informative knowledge with this campaign – and in doing so, it wants to promote the joy of reading. The selection is huge: from picture books to exciting adventure stories to interesting non-fiction books, over 23,000 books are currently waiting for children and young people in the city library and on the book bus.
The prizes are sponsored by Salzburg AG and the Association of Friends of the City Library.
