The message is unambiguous: vaccines against covid would be dangerous. A message that appears on about 9 different billboards in Toulouse. It is the town hall which advances this figure, according to several feedbacks from the field. France Bleu Occitanie is able to confirm the existence of two of them. The first appeared in July, on Boulevard de l’Embouchure, in Les Minimes, near the central police station. Another has recently been visible in the Trois Cocus district. Messages that challenge, that shock some, but that are nevertheless legal.
A legal posting
The legal department of the town hall of Toulouse has looked into the matter, to find a way to remove these posters, in vain. Indeed, whether they are in the public domain or notthey can only be withdrawn if they cause a disturbance to public order, which for the moment would not be the case according to the municipality. It is a private company that owns the panels where these messages are posted. The LPS Luchetta display company, based in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
This antivax poster campaign, signed in particular by the Réinfocovid collective, is causing a reaction. Especially health professionals, such as Dr Jerome Marty, based in Fronton, president of the French union for free medicine. “It shocks me coming from an association, in this case Réinfocovid, which has been showing sectarian aberrations for several months. Who espouses QAnon theories [mouvement complotiste américain, né sur internet, qui s’est ensuite en partie politisé en soutenant notamment Donald Trump] et who continues to participate in the manipulation around this vaccination, which puts a number of people at risk who, listening to this, might not get vaccinated or stop participating in the vaccination campaign“laments the general practitioner.
Doctor Jérôme Marty calls on the UN change in legislation, to prohibit the promotion of this type of antivax message; “in the same way that we have been asking for several months that there be a law on the dissemination of fake news with regard to science” completes the president of the French union for free medicine.
