/VISUALIZATION/ Residents of Židlochovice in Brno can look forward to the opening of a new supermarket. The Lidl retail chain will build a new store on an area of fourteen square meters at the exit to Brno. According to Mayor Jan Vitula, the demand for a new supermarket in the city is high. “So far, I haven’t had a single negative reaction to the plan. Even people from the field of ecology gave their nod to the plan,” he said.
There is currently only one Penny supermarket in Židlochovice, which is located in the center near the train station. Residents of Židlochovice therefore often have to go shopping to nearby towns, often to nearby Rajhrad. “We can’t wait for the new Lidl. Now I will be able to change shops depending on where I can shop more advantageously,” confided Jiří Zapletal in the post of Denik editor.
The dispute over licks on Kraví hora in Brno: demolition, expensive repairs? We know what he will decide
The creation of new business premises is accompanied by complications from the beginning. So far, the largest extension was caused by the discussion with Povodí Morava about the exclusion of land for the construction of a supermarket from the active flood zone. “We hope that we have finally found a solution. We assume that the exemption process will end in September or October,” Vitula said.
The town hall also concluded an agreement on accompanying buildings, which will not only beautify the surroundings, but also simplify movement in the city. “Our conditions include, in particular, the construction of freight gangways across the Svratka. The Lidl company will also build a leisure park with a lake and then also various trails,” Vitula listed. The plan also includes an underpass under the main road and a footbridge for running technical networks across the Litava River.

The planned opening of the store is in 2023.
The area of the sales area is 1400 square meters.
It will be created along the main road at the exit to Brno, near Masarykova Street.
The company will offer thirty-five jobs.
The store will include a parking lot with a capacity of 120 parking spaces.
As part of the plan, a footbridge over Svratka, piers, lakes, a park and an underpass under the main road will also be created.
The new Lidl will be built on the outskirts of the city near Masarykova street. In addition to the store, there will also be a connection to the existing technical infrastructure. “Thanks to the construction of the new store, up to thirty-five jobs will be created. The project also provides for a parking lot with a capacity of 120 parking spaces,” said Lidl spokesperson Tomáš Myler.
The construction is also related to a completely separate flood park project, which the city is behind. The construction is planned on a large plot of land between the main roads and the river. There will thus be a number of changes in places, which include, for example, the modification of the banks of the Svratka or the demolition of an unused gas station. Along the main road, the city officials will have greenery planted, which will better dampen the noise of the car traffic on the adjacent road. This will create a new environment for recreation with cycle paths for the residents of Židlochovice.
