In total, there are more than 100,000 traffic cameras in the world.
According to the world database of speed cameras, two-thirds of these cameras in Europe – 62,829 pieces. The fewest cameras are on the way – 1377 pieces. There are 107 countries in the camera data check.
It turned out that most of the traffic cameras are installed on the roads of Russia – 18,393 pieces, according to data World base.
Brazil is second with 16,997 cameras on the road. This vastly expands the territories of Russia and Brazil, and also covers an extensive road network.
But a small country turned out to be in place – Italy, whose drivers are monitored by 10,787 cameras.
The fourth place went to the United States. The camera there is two and a half times smaller than in our country – only 7366 pieces. At the same time, most of them observe violations at intersections and, in particular, fix the arrival of the stop line when the traffic light is prohibited. Approximately the same number of cameras in the UK – 7265 pieces.
