The Minister of Administration Inter decided on Monday to open an inquiry into an investigation into the investigation of two police officers who “recur to the use of force”, PSP, in the police of a citizen, in Bairro Alto, Lisbon.
In a statement, the Minister of Internal Administration, José Luís Carneiro, says that he has ordered the General Inspectorate of Internal Administration (IGAI) to open an investigation process “to establish facts related to the police incident that took place on August 13, at Travessa da Boa Hora, in Lisbon, to two elements of the Public Security Police, on the identification number of a citizen suspected of causing disturbances in order and tranquility”.
The order also determines that the National Directorate of the PSP transmits to the IGAI all the elements of the process that it incurs, references to the establishment of facts.
The PSP had already announced the opening of an investigation process into the occurrence.
The Metropolitan Command of Lisbon indicated that a part was informed on Saturday by Boa Hora, communicated a man with a “behavior, of entertainment” towards the citizens who are passing by, “and received them.
According to the metropolitan command, local agents approached the suspect, “having this aggressive attitude towards the police and refusing to identify himself”.
