The poet Adrian Păunescu’s house in Copăceni, Sângerei district, has been restored.
Literary critic Daniel Cristea-Enache and poet Flaviu Predescu talked about Adrian Păunescu’s house in Copăceni, Sângerei district, Republic of Moldova, the place where the great poet was born:
“I would start with some information, about Adrian Păunescu. The house where Adrian Păunescu was born, in Copăceni, Sângerei district, was rebuilt through a project of the Siret-Prut-Nistru euro-region and was inaugurated at the end of August: This is more than a museum, it is a fortress of defense of the national being, a wall that does not defend against the Siberian cold., say the authorities and those who took care of its inauguration. How do you see this event, Daniel, and how do you comment?” Flaviu Predescu asked.
“It is very beautiful, very noble, that such a house, in which we find a sequence from the life of Adrian Păunescu, as should happen with the houses of other important writers, has been restored and cared for. If we draw a parallel with what’s happening with Marin Preda’s home, what’s happening with Vasile Alecsandri’s or Constantin Brâncuși’s, we don’t realize that what happened there is absolutely beautiful and special”, said, at DC News, on the show “De Ce Citim” the literary critic Daniel Cristea-Enache.

Adrian Păunescu, enormous support for contemporary writers and artists. Daniel Cristea-Enache: The closeness between him and Corneliu Vadim Tudor seems deeply unfair to me
Literary critic Daniel Cristea-Enache spoke about the steps taken by Adrian Păunescu, when he was a parliamentarian, to support Romanian artists:
“Adrian Păunescu was the type of man who had an absolutely specific generosity and which distinguishes him from those with whom he was, many times, unfairly confused, namely Eugen Barbu and Corneliu Vadim Tudor. They were different temperaments and characters. While Corneliu Vadim Tudor was messing around with the entire Romanian intelligentsia before 1989, but also after 1989, most often under the pseudonym of Alcibiades, Adrian Păunescu, on the contrary, was a man who tried to help as many of the writers as possible . his contemporaries. He did a lot for Romanian writers, the opposite of Corneliu Vadim Tudor. So, a closeness between Adrian Păunescu and Vadim Tudor seems deeply unfair to me.
When he was a parliamentarian and he was the president of the Culture Commission in one of the chambers of the Parliament, he had a decisive role in the voting of a law of the Parliament to deal with what was called a merit allowance for very important writers and artists in Romanian culture ( …)”, said literary critic Daniel Cristea-Enache at DC News (read more HERE).
