A new race all on the beach with a view of Venice
VENICE – A new home event is born Venice marathon and this time with the Lido of Venice, on the beach, as a suggestive setting. On Sunday 25 September the 1st Path of the beach of the Lido of Venicea fascinating and suggestive competitive and playful ‘trail on the beach’ that will be held over distances of 5 and 11 kilometers, but also open to families who will be able to participate in the family of about 2 kilometers.
The headquarters of the event, thanks to the collaboration with the Municipality of Venice and Venice Beaches, will be the new renovated area of the Blue Moon bathing establishment, which will host the start and finish, and the Lido Beach Village with all pre and post race services and Final Pasta Party offered to all participants. An ideal opportunity for those who want to combine a fun morning of sport with an afternoon of sun, sea and relaxation.
The routes will be immersed in nature, with the first kilometers that will develop right on the sand. The 5 and 11 kilometers will then also penetrate into the pine forest and the competitors of the 11 kilometers will push themselves on the spectacular dam up to the San Nicolò lighthouse and then return.
The first edition of the Venice Lido Beach Trail will be a limited number event with a maximum of 500 participants. A choice dictated by the quality of the service that the organizers want to offer to all subscribers, but also by the fact that this year the event will represent a sort of ‘test event’ for a more articulated project of sports-tourism promotion of the territory to which the organizers are working towards 2023.
For this reason, a different location within the season is being considered for the future. This year will be one of the collateral events that, together with the 4 Alì Family Runs, will mark the approach path to the 36th UYN Venicemarathon on Sunday 23 October, but in 2023 it could instead be organized at the beginning of the season.
All information and participation details will soon be available on the website www.veneziamarathon.it.
