Thunderstorm is rolling towards Austria – it’s cracking here today – weather
At the end of this week, the weather is once again showing its changeable side – the risk of thunderstorms remains high, especially in the east.
The eastern half of Austria will remain under the influence of a high-altitude low with a core over the Balkans on Sunday. The air therefore remains prone to showers, especially in eastern Austria. At the beginning of the new week, the frontal system of a low-pressure complex with a core between the British Isles and the Benelux countries intervenes in the weather and also causes showers and sometimes heavy thunderstorms in the west. On Tuesday and Wednesday, a temporary, weak high-pressure influence sets in before a new disturbance makes itself felt from the west on Thursday, so that the risk of showers and thunderstorms increases again.
Am Sunday dense clouds and a few short showers are moving through in the east. From Vorarlberg to Upper Austria and East Tyrol, on the other hand, the chance of showers is low and sunshine dominates. The wind blows from Upper Austria to Lake Constance moderately from the east, in the east sometimes briskly from the north. With 22 to 31 degrees it will be summery and warm.
Am Monday the east usually shows its friendly side, but showers and thunderstorms spread from the west. The first showers can already be expected in Vorarlberg and in the Upper Inn Valley in the morning hours. These, together with thunderstorm reinforcements, spread eastward and reach the Waldviertel and Upper Styria by evening. The few clouds in the far east, on the other hand, remain harmless. With a sometimes brisk westerly wind, maximum values of 22 to 32 degrees are reached.
35 degrees on Wednesday
Of the Tuesday started with some remaining clouds and along the northern Alps from Salzburg eastwards with the last showers. While things continue to be friendly in the west, cumulus clouds form especially on the eastern edge of the Alps and in the Waldviertel and here isolated heat thunderstorms break out in the afternoon. A brisk north-west wind blows in the eastern Danube region and lowlands. The maximum values are between 26 and 32 degrees.
Am Wednesday shines early in the morning, the sun spreads. In addition, only a few harmless cumulus clouds pass through during the day. The wind freshens up from different directions and on the main ridge it gets foehn, especially in the west in predestined valleys stormy gusts are possible. In the evening the clouds will thicken in the west and the first drops are possible. The maximum values are between a sweaty 28 to 35 degrees.
