On August 13, 2022, on the day of the 100th anniversary of the martyrdom of Hieromartyr Veniamin, Metropolitan of Petrograd and Gdov, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Spirit Cathedral in Minsk.
His Eminence was co-served by Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin, Archbishop Stefan of Gomel and Zhlobin, Archbishop Anthony of Grodno and Volkovysk, Bishop Leonid of Turov and Mozyr, Bishop Pavel of Molodechno and Stolbtsovo, Bishop Porfiry of Lida and Smorgon, Bishop Ignatius of Polotsk and Glubokoe, Bishop Ambrose of Svetlogorsk, Bishop Pinsk and Luninets George, Bishop of Slutsk and Soligorsk Eusebius.
The following served as archpastors: Archpriest Boris Ptashinsky, dean of the churches of the 1st Minsk District Deanery, rector of the parish of the Church of the Apostles Peter and Paul in the village of Sennitsa, Minsk District; Dean of the churches of the 5th Minsk city deanery, rector of the parish of the Church of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in the city of Minsk, Archpriest Alexander Strekha; Dean of the Churches of the 6th Minsk City Deanery, rector of the parish of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Minsk, Archpriest Sergei Komlik; director of the Minsk Theological School, Archpriest John Zadorozhin; Priest Dionysius Kovalev, Chairman of the Reward Commission of the Belarusian Exarchate; Vice-Rector of the Minsk Theological Seminary for educational work Hieromonk Agafangel (Budyshyn) and clergy of the Cathedral. The diaconal rank was headed by Protodeacon Vladimir Nazarov. The liturgical hymns were performed by the bishops’ choir under the direction of the choir director Vitaly Sobolevsky.
Zaos clerics, monastics and honored guests prayed with worship. After a special litany, the Patriarchal Exarch offered up a prayer for the restoration of peace. The sermon before communion was conceived by Priest Makarii Kovalev. After the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarchal Exarch, the bishop and the clergy who co-serve with him died and glorification to Hieromartyr Benjamin, Metropolitan of Petrograd.
Then Archbishop John of Brest and Kobrin announced the congratulatory address of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the occasion of the name day of Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus. On behalf of the Synod of the Belarusian Orthodox Church, Archbishop Anthony of Grodno and Volkovysk congratulated the archpastor, handing him a bouquet of white roses and a prosphora.
Commissioner for Religious Affairs and National States Alexander Rumak congratulated Bishop Exarch and read out a congratulatory address to His Eminence on behalf of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Roman Golovchenko.
Vladyka Benjamin thanked everyone for the congratulations and production with a word to those present.
Completion The Patriarchal Exarch congratulated the communicants on receiving the Holy Mysteries of Christ and gave the faithful the archpastoral blessing.
On the day of the namesake of the Patriarchal Exarch, the chairmen of the synodal departments of the Belarusian Exarchate, target theological educational institutions, deans of the Minsk diocese, rectors of churches in the city of Minsk, the delegation from the monastery, employees of the Minsk diocese, and other clergy and secular persons were congratulated.
