In the third round of the Tirol League, the relegated team from the Regionalliga Tirol, der SV Innsbruck, write for the first time. An extremely hard-fought 3:2 success at SC Munster. So you can give up the red lantern – SVG Mayrhofen is bottom of the table after a 2:3 defeat in Natter. Volders started the new season unhappily – twice equalizing in injury time and in the third round a 2:3 defeat at the IAC – table position fifteen.
SV Innsbruck secured the three nine minutes before the final whistle
Alexander Pfurtscheller, coach SV Innsbruck: “It was a hard-fought victory – a lot of long balls from the opponent. We defended them well and also had good attacking actions. The well-deserved opening goal came in the 41st minute through Florian Mair. All in all, my team had a slight advantage in the first half.
A nice combination from Paul Schuchter and Marcel Santer seven minutes after the restart – crossed to Marcel Uitz and it was 2-0. The Heimelf scored immediately – a long-range shot by Sebastian Handle. Münster changes, the party gets harder and rougher. Unfortunately, the referee doesn’t have the game completely under control. In the 76th minute, a free kick from the side by Munster and Fabian Kölli can make it 2-2. My team hit the bar – unfortunate. Even a long-range shot and a header don’t bring the newer lead. In the 81st minute, Florian Mair takes a penalty – Marcel Santer converts it to 3:2. Unfortunately, the referee let himself be guided by the audience – a disproportionately long stoppage time of ten minutes. But we get three points with the 3:2 win.
From my point of view, a deserved success – nothing allowed and played better football. Very important for morale, the relegation from the regional league was a big setback for our team!”
