Uncertainty and stress took a toll on many people who had to leave their homes and get used to everyday hardships. The shriek of sirens, the honking of police cars and calls from the trumpet to clear the streets. On the second day, on Wednesday, August 14, thousands of residents of Prague and a number of other cities and towns found such a hut. A quarter of a million people became homeless during the peak of the floods.
Even those who refused calls to leave the threatened area quickly found themselves out of the habit of security. A large part of the country’s capital was without electricity and gas, transport began to collapse after the subway was flooded.
Some residents of the cities where the flood wave hit found accommodation with relatives or friends. etc. the only way left was to gather and then to the emergency dormitories in the kolkhs. Instead of a habituated home, people of all ages and social categories had to get used to living in a decent community every day, whose members would often not even be mistaken for a decent dining roommate in a fancy buffet.
Understandably, people respond differently to calls to clear the house. Some left the threatened Prague neighborhoods (in the center of Prague it was Star Msto and Josefov) to go before the world, others surrendered to the police.
Events of the day: The dream of sawing sea lions back to the zoo is savedHave you seen sea lions in the middle of the Vltava river? It’s nothing. The sea lions from the Prague Zoo were released because of the flood. The dream is now saved, so that the refugees move as quickly as possible back to the zoo in Troy. The sea lions got away, but one is back, the remaining two are under the control of the zoologist and the police. Even the editor of the zoo oversaw everything, said Vt Kahle, head of the department for public relations, about the most recent problem of the zoo in Troja. It is difficult, but we are trying to saw sea lions in the garden. I hope we can do it. The situation with me every moment, she said. According to Kahle, the employees of the garden kept talking about the fact that the sea lions could be released. But we preferred to save the animals that the water could harm – gorillas, hippos. The sea lions were not so much threatened by the water. We managed to evacuate, for example, fats from the water bodies, but the situation of Kahle is underestimated. Two Liberian hippopotamuses were also lost in the explosion of the zoo, one hippopotamus is still alive. |
With the new reality, the inhabitants of the traditions of the proletarian Karlno tribe, as well as the noble Old Town, fought with the new reality on the hard military lighters. they often only drank lightly to the evacuation center, the problem was the lack of water, food and blood in the first hours.
But the organizers quickly overcame the problems. In addition, people from dry cities carried blankets, drinking water, toys for children, and dog kennels to the centers. Everything was fine.
In the abandoned neighborhoods, which the newspapers quickly burned as ghost towns, policemen and rescuers were patrolling. First after drying, with pibvajc hours it only on moons.
In the houses that the rescuers searched for moles after the evacuation and declared empty, there were still more and more people. As the water rose, their original determination to bake the flood at home disappeared. In the end, they too were angry when a passing policeman, from whom the moles had been hiding before, noticed them.

These people did not heed the calls to evacuate, they made fun of it. When they found out that we didn’t make a mistake and that the water was really drinking, they chanted verses that could have meant something else, the mayor of Prague 8, Josef Nosek, was enraged.
At a time when the firefighters were pulling hoses out of flooded houses with extreme demand, people who had originally left them were trying to get into the flooded cities. A few thieves also tried to sneak in secretly.
Vtan wiped out from solitude
The policeman, who had to kill this violent movement, stood in the empty cells for hours. They were drinking too much and had nowhere to relax. It’s a mountain, not a demonstration against the IMF, they argued.
According to the employees of the accommodation centers, the evacuation has actually become an escape from the lonely life for some people. Many were very happy and thankful that someone took them with them during the evacuation. They are very modest and thank you for everything, said Hana Vtov from the Na Smetance bicycle warehouse in Prague 2.
Suffering for some, distraction for others is slowly killing her. But as it turns out, not when he will have room to move. Some houses fell down with water, I gave it a threat. 25,000 people from Karlno will be homeless for about two weeks.
Events of the day: Dest ob dcho ivluIn particular, the worst natural disaster in the country claimed ten human lives in the middle: an 81-year-old man drowned in his home in Psecka, who refused calls to evacuate. In the middle of the Orlk dam, it was difficult to drain the water, which could not release the drinking water and was in danger of being washed away. The water level only rose a little before that, not reaching the top of the dam. Flooding crippled a number of the country’s main thoroughfares. A bridge was built on the road between Prague and Teplice. In the flooded cities in the south and the lower part of the country, the water began to recede. Known fears, on the other hand, prevailed in the central and northern echoes. In some places, an ecological disaster was approaching: the Elbe substation flooded the Spolany area in Neratovice, from where there was a threat of mercury and dioxin. The Kauuku Kralupa factory was also threatened by the water. In Strakonice, local company Z leaked large amounts of oil into residential areas of the city. The government has decided to accept the humanitarian aid offered by the country. A technician from Belgium fell in love with her. |
