Borecký (STAN): The Central Bohemian Region and the capital Prague will build a cycle path to Kladno
At today’s meeting, the regional councilors discussed and approved the wording of the cooperation agreement between the Central Bohemian Region and the capital city of Prague on the “Kladenská Drážní cesta” project.
The project plan, which the council already gave the green light at the end of last year, aims to build a safe road for non-motorized transport on the route Prague-Ruzyně – Kladno and thus connect the capital with the largest city in the Central Bohemian Region.

The subject of the contract is cooperation on a project whose goal is to build a separate protected road for non-motorized traffic between Prague and Kladno using the track of an abandoned body that will be created after the transfer as part of the modernization of the Prague – Kladno line with a connection to Václav Havel Airport, possibly using space reserves along this railway line. “We, as the initiator of the project, undertake in the contract with Prague to financially and organizationally ensure the processing of the complete project preparation and subsequent execution of the building from our budget. The capital city’s obligations then consist of acquiring land on its territory and a financial share in project preparation and project implementation. Finally, Prague will also take over the section in its cadastral territory for ownership and management,” explains Deputy Governor for Public Transport Petr Borecký.
The physical implementation of the construction will be closely linked to the modernization of the Prague – Kladno railway line. The contract on cooperation on the project “Kladenská drážní cesta, section Praha-Ruzyně – Kladno” will be submitted for discussion at the next meeting of the Central Bohemian Region Representative Council.
