Vaccines will arrive faster and safer at the vaccination points: 15 cars, donated to the Republic of Moldova by the EU and WHO
The European Union and the World Health Organization (WHO) donated 15 modern machines to the Republic of Moldova to facilitate the vaccination process and safer transport of vaccines and various consumables. The cars will provide quality vaccination services and provide practical training to help with vaccination performance.
According to the Minister of Health, Ala Nemerenco, the EU allocated 3.7 million lei for the search of the 15 cars.
“The mobility of public health specialists is a very important element. I want to thank, first of all, the generous financier – the Delegation of the European Union, who provided us with these funds, and the WHO who took care of the procurement. The 15 vehicles will be used by specialists responsible for immunization to supervise the vaccination process and for the actual delivery of the vaccines,” said Ala Nemerenco.
With the help of the vehicles, the supervision and support visits of the vaccination process will also be carried out.
“Increasing the mobility of the ANSP in increasing the quality of the immunization system in the Republic of Moldova is part of the technical activities that are implemented by the WHO. The purpose of the supervision and support visits is to discuss what are good practices and what we have to do to have an increased level of vaccination coverage”, said WHO Moldova project coordinator, Stela Gheorghiță.
The donation was made through the regional project “Joint action of the European Union and the World Health Organization to support the vaccination process against COVID-19 in the Republic of Moldova”.
