Twenty native trees from Portugal to discover in Ourém until the end of the month – Leiria Region
Twenty species of trees native to mainland Portugal, the Azores and Madeira archipelagos are the theme of the exhibition, which will be on display in the Auditorium of Paços do Concelho de Ourém until 31 August.
In “Native Trees of Portugal”, the public has the opportunity to get to know and learn about these species, namely the Cerquinho Oak, the Alvarinho Oak or the Dragoeiro.
Organized by the Nossa Senhora da Piedade Parish Council and the Ourém Chamber, the exhibition aims to sensitize the population to the role of these objectives trees “in the climate system, focusing on the theme of valuing the territory, from the biological and environmental point of view”. ecological, historical, cultural and economic territorial”.
The materials for the exhibition were provided by the Blue Flag Association of Europe (ABAE).
The exhibition “Native Trees of Portugal” can be visited from Tuesday to Friday, between 10 am and 1 pm and from 2 pm to 5 pm.
