Trident in Rome, three parking lots. And from Piazza del Popolo to Spagna it will be pedestrianized – Corriere.it
The planned projects on the Lungotevere in Augusta and in via Crispi presented to the mayor Gualtieri. Paolo Buzzetti (Aspesi): «Doing them well in project financing». Estimated 880 parking spaces
Fully pedestrian trident. The solution could come from a ring of three car parks, two contiguous on the Lungotevere in Augusta, in the stretch between the Cavour and Margherita bridges for 600 cars. And one between via Crispi and via Zucchelli, where the Ama warehouse is currently, and would also affect other abandoned buildings: it would consist of 4 underground floors and one on the surface for 280 cars. I projects were developed by the Permanent Laboratory for Rome chaired by Paolo Buzzetti (which is part of Aspesi, the Association for real estate development and promotion) and they have already been presented to the mayor Roberto Gualtieri and to the general manager of the Campidoglio, Paolo Aielli: “They were very interested – says Buzzetti – and they told to go ahead and liaise with the mobility department ».
The dream of the pedestrian Trident many years ago and to implement it at the time of Walter Veltroni’s administration, a parking space inside the Pincio hill was thought of for 726 cars. This project, however, was stopped by the mayor Gianni Alemanno and the related archaeological discoveries. Now to pedestrianize this important triangle of the center, delimited by via del Babuino and via di Ripetta that goes up to piazza Augusto Imperatore and now continues up to via Crispi and via Sistina, comes the proposal of the Buzzetti Laboratory to which we already owe the idea being implemented for pedestrian square Fiume. A triangle still invaded by cars and vans, where parking is impossible, despite the fact that the Ztl is still narrower here and even mopeds are forbidden. And where the chaos of parking still reigns with vans often parked on the sidewalks in via del Babuino.
Parking spaces that «could also be built in project financing according to the new guidelines of the Municipality – adds Buzzetti – and that in this case do not present particular technical difficulties ». The two contiguous car parks along the Lungotevere in Augusta, half intended for rotating parking and half appurtenant, or intended for those who live nearby, provide for the burying of the road section with an underpass, above the left-hand collector, and total pedestrianization of the road overlooking the Tiber. The one in via Zucchelli, on the other hand, provides for the reconstruction of the building called «Casa del Balilla», which was demolished, providing a connection with the municipal gallery of modern art which is in that area and strongly underused precisely because of the difficulty of access. And finally, since Aspesi has been developing ideas and projects for the relaunch of Rome since 2018, Buzzetti believes that “the task entrusted to the architect Boeri for the preparation of a laboratory of new projects for the future of the city, is doubtful an initiative appreciable and full of interest – he adds – but we cannot fail to reiterate the indispensable involvement of the Roman world of real estate and urban planning ». That it is not a personal attack on Boeri, Buzzetti points out immediately: «We esteem it, but for years we have been asking for the establishment of a comparison body open to trade associations, planners, urban planners, entrepreneurs, investors and investors. It is unfortunate, however, that at the top of local and national institutions there is a closure towards the Roman business world “.
