The elementary school plan in V Cibulky in Košířy will be built for Prague 5 for 441.4 million crowns without VAT by the company Syn, which offered the lowest price in the tender. This follows from the resolution of the councilors of the city district. The expected value of the contract was 353 million crowns without VAT. The school is to be established on the site of the current special school for children with autism. Due to insufficient capacities, Prague 5 is also planning further investments in education.
The municipality agreed with the municipality that it will acquire the area of the special school in Cibulkách, where the school will be built. In exchange, the town hall will give the city land near the Nepomucká elementary school, where modern spaces for children with autism were created by rebuilding a new wooden pavilion.
In the past, the town hall had already prepared an architectural study of the school, which should initially have only the first level with the possibility of expansion and the second if necessary. Construction should start next year, the town hall plans to use temporary premises for the new facility to complete the missing school capacities.
According to the demographic forecast that Prague 5 commissioned, the population of Prague 5 will increase by up to a fifth from the current roughly 89,000 by 2030, mainly due to new construction. The number of children and seniors is expected to increase significantly. Therefore, it will be necessary to secure additional places in primary and kindergarten schools.
In addition to the primary school in Cibulká, the town hall plans to build another one on the Penty grounds in the Waltrovka area, others are also to be built in the Smíchov City district, which is already under construction, and in Barrandová. Prague 5 also previously bought a kindergarten from Penta for 34.5 million crowns, which the company built during the construction of Waltrovka.
