Omroep Flevoland – News – Mayor gives plastic boot as a gift to Scouting Nederland
Scouting Nederland has had a sustainable lily barge on the estate site in Zeewolde since Friday. Mayor Jan Gorter gave this typical scouting boat during the Nawaka water camp as a token of appreciation for the good cooperation. The boot is made of plastic waste.
The municipality considers an event every four years to be important for Zeewolde, including for the quality of life of the village and the economy.
Nawaka
“We are happy with the turmoil and the contribution that Scouting Nederland is making to Zeewolde. We want to give something back with the donation,” said Mayor Gorter, who developed a development near the Nuldernauw, where Nawaka reached. About 4500 scouts from 7 to 18 years old will be doing all kinds of activities there until August 17.
Both the municipality and Scouting Nederland say that they consider sustainability to be important. According to the municipality, the lily vlet past within that theme. The coat of arms of Zeewolde will be seen on the sail of the boat.
Scouting and Zeewolde
Scouting Nederland has established relations in Zeewolde in recent months. In June, for example, the move of the national service center to Zeewolde was announced and the Adventure House opened on the scouting estate.
