Synopsis of the show “Passarola”:
in this novel[Memorial do Convento de José Saramago], the visionary priest believes that the “machine to walk on air” that he imagined will allow men to fly and that in order to build, and so that it can cross the skies, it needs the strength of Baltasar Sete-sóis, the music of Domenico Scarlatti and of the powers of Blimunda Sete-lunas who manages to recover the human wills that, like ether, will place Passarola above the Earth. The show approaches this man who became known in history as the “flying priest”. It is from the fictional narrative of José Saramago’s book that Trigo Limpo Teatro ACERT will build another gigantic scenic device, Passarola, and create a dramaturgy centered on moments with greater capacity for theatricalization related to the history of construction, journey and tragic end. of the “air-walking machine”. A journey through the imagination of a novel that crosses the megalomania and selfishness of the powerful with the imagination and inventiveness of visionaries and the strength and ingenuity of simple people.
