Starting in Germany, a traffic jam due to border controls and congestion at the Walserberg border crossing on the Westautobahn (A1) in Salzburg extends around 22 kilometers to the Tauernautobahn (A10) on Saturday morning. The ÖAMTC tells the APA that motorists have to wait a good hour. In the direction of Slovenia, too, it was already backed up.

There was another traffic jam on the A10 between Hüttau and Flachau for a good 14 kilometers. There was a time loss of about 40 minutes. On the Karawankenautobahn (A11), the columns in Carinthia heading south at the Karawanken Tunnel were around 14 kilometers long with a waiting time of around an hour. When entering Austria from Slovenia, there was also a delay of a good 20 minutes. There was also a backlog at the Wurzenpass on the B109 in the direction of Slovenia. An accident caused a delay of 30 minutes on a distance of five kilometers. According to the ÖAMTC, the trend for traffic jams was still increasing for the rest of Saturday.
