Ondra, who holds the world title in bouldering at the end of 2014, advanced to the six-man final as the winner of the semi-final, with which he managed to conquer two boulders. In the fight for the title, all three medalists solved two of the four obstacles, and the final placing was decided in favor of Ondro’s rivals by a smaller number of attempts.
Ondra has big plans for ME: I want to expand the gold collection, I will give it everything
After the initial boulder, which was insurmountable for all the finalists, Ondra reached the top of the second obstacle only on the tenth attempt ten seconds before the end of the time limit. The third route was solved on the second attempt, the fourth again was insurmountable for the climber with the fourth Frenchman Mejdi Schalck, who at least reached the zone.
By winning bronze, twenty-nine-year-old Brno native Ondra followed up on two silvers from the continental championships in this discipline from 2010 and 2015. He also has two silvers from the World Championships in bouldering.
Adamovská finished sixth
Twenty-one-year-old Adamovská and the defending champion entered the fight for a medal in Munich, just from the last promotion place in the morning, in the first row, surpassing two rivals.
