Traffic restrictions and closures: truck rally in downtown Berlin on Friday afternoon – Berlin
Road users have to be prepared for restrictions on Friday afternoon: Hundreds of trucks are planning a rally in the city center.
Due to a registered rally of hundreds of trucks, Berliners have to be prepared for traffic restrictions, traffic jams and route closures.
According to the police, trucks are expected from all four directions from 2:30 p.m. The plan is to drive at a slow speed of only two to three kilometers per hour on the Straße des 17. Juni and the Platz des 18. März at the Brandenburg Gate.
The truck drivers are demonstrating against the explosion in LNG prices and waves of bankruptcies in transport companies.
Restrictions must be expected on four routes.
Route one leads from Alt-Friedrichsfelde via Karl-Marx-Allee over the Karl-Liebknechtbrücke to the Großer Stern and ends in Heerstraße/Flatowallee.
Route two leads from Flatowallee in the opposite direction to Alt-Friedrichsfelde/Märkische Allee.
Route three leads from Kurt-Schumacher-Damm via the Föhrer and Lessing bridges to the Großer Stern and from there via Potsdamer Platz, Stresemannstraße, Mehring and Tempelhofer Damm to Nahmitzer Damm.
