The author and co-founder of Amnesty Sweden resigned due to disagreement with the report on the armed forces
The co-founder of the Swedish organization Amnesty, author Per Wästberg announced that he is leaving the organization due to Amnesty International’s report criticizing Ukraine’s armed forces. That was reported by the Swedish newspaper Swedish daily newspaper.
In the report, Amnesty International strongly criticizes Ukraine, claiming that the country allegedly violates international law and endangers civilians when the Ukrainian military is near civilian objects, allegedly “establishing bases” in residential areas, schools and hospitals, and launching strikes from residential areas. district
I have been a member of the organization for almost 60 years. Because of Amnesty’s statements about the war in Ukraine, it is with a heavy heart that I end my long and fruitful work.

Per Wästberg founded Amnesty Sweden together with the lawyer Hans Jöran Frank in 1964. He is also a member of the Nobel Prize Committee in Literature and was formerly chairman of the International PEN Club.
