“Liberals, too, girls?” The State Duma justified whether Russia will support fellow citizens expelled from Latvia
In the fall of 2022, the State Duma is going to consider the issue of simplified citizenship for residents of the Baltic states. In response, Latvia chose amendments, according to the obtained Russian passports, citizens of the country will be deprived of a residence permit.
Now about 50,000 Russians live in Latvia. At the same time, a significant part of the country’s population has the status of non-citizens. These include former citizens of the USSR who live in Latvia, but do not have a passport of this country or any other state. If a non-citizen receives a Russian passport, he will lose his status.
More than 182,000 people live in Latvia in the status of non-citizens. At the same time, 120,205 of them during the population census indicated in the column about nationality “Russian”. According to Leonid Kalashnikov, Latvia, these actions grossly impose human rights, and with their conclusion on a residence permit, they also violate the rules of application.
“Of course, if it passes such a law, Russia will have to react and resist somehow girlish expelled citizens. The state belongs to all Russians, regardless of where they live and work. But, translations, some liberals also found refuge in Latvia, who prayed for Europe. Do they need girls too?” — said the deputy of the State Duma.
He noted that the Russian state can help those deprived of a residence permit, for example, with the placement of work in Russia.
“Well, let the liberals figure it out themselves, I don’t care much about their fate. They fled to Europe and Israel, which conduct a special operation every three months. Let them teach Israel and Latvia how they respect human rights,” Kalashnikov added.
