EC juniors in the Czech Republic: Ten Slovak boats advanced to six C1
ČESKÉ BUDĚJOVICE. Ten of the twelve Slovak boats advanced from Friday’s qualifying races to the C1 semifinals of the European Junior and Under-23 Championships, which are held in České Budějovice.
The best performance of the qualification was Jaromír Ivanecký, who won among the juniors. In the first heat, he scored only two penalty seconds and achieved the fastest time among all competitors – 99.34 s.
In addition to him, Samuel Krajčí also directly advanced, who finished in the first race with three knocks and a loss of 6.70 seconds in his compatriot’s place.
Dávid Štaffen was disqualified, but he was subsequently able to secure himself in the repair run. Among the juniors, Stanislava Ďuratná and Petronela Ižová did not succeed in the first race, finishing behind the best fifteen, but they successfully made up for it in the second qualifying race.
However, the third Slovakian junior Ema Diešková will be missing in the half, she was not enough to advance even two runs, in the second she received a 50-second penalty.
In history, five out of six Slovak boats have also succeeded under the age of 23.
Among the men, Ľudovít Macúš from 12th and Juraj Dieška from 13th place made it to the semi-finals, on the contrary, not even a correction ride was enough for Adam Janovčík to advance.
Among the women, all three Slovaks qualified. Emanuela Luknárová showed the third best performance when, with two penalty seconds, she took the third place with a deficit of 2.34 seconds to the most suitable domestic competitor, Gabriela Satková.
In the first qualifying race, Soňa Stanovská and Simona Glejteková also secured tenth place.
