Blood traces not from Natacha de Crobrugghe | Brussels
BrusselsThe traces of blood found in a house in the Peruvian Cabanaconde, where the Belgian Natacha de Crombrugghe, who has been missing since January 24, attended a party the day before her disappearance, do not belong to the woman. Several Peruvian media report this based on police sources.
“The blood samples were taken to a lab in Lima for analysis. The results show that the blood is indeed of human origin, but does not belong to Natacha de Crombrugghe,” local police chief Miguel Cayetano Cuadros said at a composite on Wednesday.
Investigators are following three more leads, Colonel Marcos Cuadros, head of Arequipa’s improved division, said. “It is possible that Natacha de Crombrugghe fell into the ravine of the river, that her disappearance is the result of a spectacular act or that she is still alive. As long as we don’t find a body, all the basics are in place.”
The 28-year-old woman from Brussels disappeared on January 24 after she allegedly left a hostel in the village of Cabanaconde for a trek through the Colca Canyon, a deep expanse in the south of the country. The search continues in the Colca Canyon.
