Adrián Marín returns to Portugal and reinforces Gil Vicente
Left-back, ex-Famalicão, meets Ivo Vieira after a lightning operation by the gilistas to guarantee him
Gil Vicente agreed to hire Adrián Marín as a defender, who has committed to the gilistas for the next two seasons. The 25-year-old Spanish left-back was at the time at the service of Famalicão, trained until last December by Ivo Vieira, a coach he will now meet again in Barcelos.
This was, moreover, one of the factors that weigh in favor of the proposal of Gil Vicente, who had competition in the race for Marín and who had to act quickly to guarantee it. Another factor that pleases the Spaniard is the presence of the Barcelos emblem in European countries, a longer journey is still dependent on the result of the play-off with AZ Alkmaar, from the Netherlands.
In this regard, yesterday, it became known that the Spaniard Guillermo Cuadra Fernández will referee the game in Alkmaar, on the 18th. For Barcelos, in the second leg, on the 25th, UEFA appointed a Croatian refereeing team, led by Fran Jovic.
The arrival of Adrián Marín reinforces the Spanish “accent” in the Gilista squad, which has (at least for now…) Fran Navarro and Kevin Villodres, who was the biggest figure in the single European victory, in addition to the most expensive signing ever Club only for the club 5000 thousand euros (5.2 million euros purchase option).
Despite the custom, Villodres is delighted with Barcelos and the structure of the club, which does not see any 22-year-old player taking on a heavy Samuel Lino heritage.
